Anyone can go on the tour provided you make reservations. We did the group tour which is about 20 people in a small van together for the day with a guide and van driver. There are private tours where you will only be with your group. Private tours are more expensive. I was a bit hesitant going on a group tour but it was great. Everyone was friendly!
Q:
Are there bathrooms on the tour bus? How far are the stops in between each tour?
A:
We were in a large van, so no bathrooms, but it’s only 45 min drive from Louisville to Bardstown area and only 1 hour and 20 min from Louisville to Lexington area.

There is a good bit of windshield time to get around Bourbon Country. Luckily, tours with Mint Julep go quickly because you have an expert guide on board the bus giving you fun facts and bourbon history along the way. And we optimize your itinerary and secure all admission tickets in advance so there's little down time once you get to each destination. Going south to places like Maker's Mark is about 90 minutes one way, so safe and comfortable transportation can make or break your Kentucky Bourbon Trail adventure. We hope you'll choose to travel with us!

It depends which day you choose to go. We went on a Fri, so we started at Maker’s Mark (which is the furthest out) and worked our way back to Louisville stopping at Jim Beam and 1792. However, we made 2 bonus stops - at Four Roses (for a tasting) and the Heaven Hill museum and store. You can find all of the itineraries on their website. I highly recommend them!

Yes, and the lunch was at a golf course. We had our choice of food but almost everyone chose the “Hot Brown” which was delicious. Alcoholic drinks were not included at lunch. All distillery admissions were included and I think every one of them had a tasting room. Some of them gave multiple tastes.
