A small plane crashed into a San Diego neighborhood on Thursday morning, hitting several homes and sparked multiple fires.A neighborhood in the Murphy Canyon area was evacuated as firefighters battled the flames and tended to causalities.

Several people are believed to have died after a small plane crashed into a residential street in San Diego on Thursday morning.

“We have jet fuel all over the place,” Dan Eddy, San Diego’s assistant fire chief, said at an early morning news conference. He described the neighborhood as a “gigantic debris field.”
