Ohtani is now not expected to start pitching in games again until after the MLB All-Star break, which will take place from July 14–17. According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Los Angeles Dodgers plan to keep Ohtani from pitching until after the break, avoiding rushing him back as he is already putting up MVP-level production as a hitter.

On Saturday, Ohtani took the next step forward in his pitching rehab, throwing around 35 four-seam fastballs, two-seamers (aka sinkers) and splitters. He also took a break about halfway through to simulate being down in between two innings.

With only a couple of exceptions, the Los Angeles Dodgers have kept Shohei Ohtani on a light throwing schedule each Wednesday and more work off the mound on Saturdays. The team has
