BRENTWOOD — The driver of a vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after their vehicle slammed into a motorcyclist and killed him while he was stopped at a crossroads near downtown early Sunday. The coroner’s office on Monday identified the motorcyclist killed as Russell D. Lister, 56, of Concord.

A motorcyclist died in Brentwood early Sunday morning after he was rear-ended by a driver suspected of being under the influence, police said.

The driver who allegedly crashed into the motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and police added that drugs "are being considered a possible contributing factor."
