Mayor Harvey Ward said Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida CFO Blaise Ingoglia's claims that the city is raising its budget by $90 million a year is untrue.

In the news conference Tuesday, DeSantis and his head of DOGE, Eric Soskin, acknowledged that Broward County had responded to their request for financial information — but said they still considered the local government to be uncooperative because it had not passed a resolution supporting their financial audits.

At a press conference in Gainesville today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida's DOGE team will be visiting City Hall to audit the City of Gainesville's spending.
