GameStop says it plans to focus on the trading-card business moving forward. This comes as the video game industry grows increasingly digital. Shares of the company fell 20% Thursday following an announcement of a bond sale.

GameStop Corp., the largest standalone video-game retailer in the US, will focus on growing its trading card business, Chief Executive Officer Ryan Cohen said at the company’s annual shareholder meeting Thursday.

GameStop is raising money by selling special financial instruments called Convertible Senior Notes. They plan to sell $2.25 billion worth of these notes and might sell an additional $450 million if the buyers want more.

GameStop upsized its latest offering of convertible senior notes to $2.25 billion from $1.75 billion, the video game retailer said.

GameStop shares are dropping 20% Thursday morning, a day after the video-game retailer announced a new fundraising effort.

GameStop said it plans to raise more debt — a move that could indicate another bitcoin purchase is looming for the videogame retailer and original meme stock.

Following the March announcement of the bitcoin treasury strategy, GameStop raised $1.3 billion through another convertible note offering. The company subsequently purchased 4,710 bitcoin for roughly $500 million during May. GME shares were lower by 10% in after hours trading.
