Over five years after Harvey Weinstein ‘s previous New York City sex crimes trial saw the once powerful producer sentenced to 23 years behind bars, the much accused Weinstein’s retrial for rape and sexual assault gets underway this morning in a Manhattan courtroom.

The former Hollywood producer is being retried on a criminal sexual charge and a rape charge from his 2020 trial and a criminal sexual charge related to former model Kaja Sokola.

For the second time, a New York jury heard from a prosecutor about how once-renowned movie producer Harvey Weinstein used his power and influence to prey on women with industry career aspirations.
