Mirra Andreeva is definitely looking like a contender for the French Open favorite as the No. 6 seed registered her third straight-set win at this year's tournament after crushing 32nd-seeded Yulia Putintseva 6-3 6-1 to reach the round-of-16.
Eight months on, the 18-year-old avenged the defeat in style at Roland Garros. She came from 5-3 down in the second set and saved one set point to advance 6-3, 7-5 past No. 17 seed Kasatkina and make her second Grand Slam quarterfinal.
