Rwanda agreed to take as many as 250 migrants deported from the US, part of efforts across the continent to placate Washington in the face of tariff threats and travel bans.

Rwanda has reached a deal with the Trump administration to take in migrants deported from the United States, becoming the third African nation to do so, amid complaints that governments on the continent are being pressured by the White House to receive them.

Rwanda has agreed to accept 250 deportees from the United States, a Rwandan government spokeswoman said on Tuesday, making the African nation the latest country to work with the Trump administration as it seeks to expel tens of thousands of migrants held in government custody.
