Shashwat Rawat's unbeaten 122 steered India A to 224 for seven against India C on day one of their Duleep Trophy clash. With support from Shams Mulani's 44, Rawat helped recover from a dire situation at 36 for five.

Shashwat Rawat played an array of delightful shots through his epic innings including straight drives, cover drives and even reverse sweeps off the spinners.

India C's decision to field was vindicated almost immediately, with Kamboj and Vyshak cutting through the India A top order who lost their first five wickets with just 37 on the board.

The 23-year-old’s sixth First Class hundred (122 batting, 235b, 15x4) helped India A reach 224 for seven at stumps after being put into bat by India C at the Rural Development Trust Stadium on Thursday.

The innings was then resurrected by Rawat and Shams Mulani, as the pair added 87 runs for the sixth wicket. India C picked two more wickets in the day but Rawat stayed put at one end, forging partnerships and pushing India A past the 200-run mark before stumps.
