After an offseason driven by the goal of competing for a playoff spot and holding their ground against anybody in the WNBA, little has gone as the Sky planned.
For the second time this season, the Chicago Sky are preparing to face the undefeated and defending WNBA champion New York Liberty on Tuesday night. The Sky enter the matchup with a 2–5 record, coming off a demoralizing 79–52 loss to the Indiana Fever on Saturday.
The Liberty are one of the WNBA’s two remaining unbeatens. The defending champs are significantly better, but center Jonquel Jones is expected to miss this game. The reigning Finals MVP rolled her ankle in their most recent game and did not return, although the team announced she avoided significant injury.
