A system bringing the chance of rain and thunderstorms across Southern California has cooled down the region. Snow is expected in parts of the Sierras.

Murder charges against a 34-year-old Long Beach man who was out of jail on supervised release when he was accused of killing a 17-year-old high school senior just steps from her home in March of this year were announced Thursday.

A 15-year-old girl from Riverside has been arrested after police say she made threats over social media targeting other students at her school. The incident occurred Sept. 18 at Ramona High School, according to a news release from the Riverside Police Department.
