The parents of the 1-year-old girl thrown three floors down a trash compactor chute -- allegedly by her own uncle -- in their Staten Island apartment building scrambled to rescue her as they heard her cries, law enforcement sources said Tuesday.

Aaron Henderson, 39, is accused of dropping the toddler in the chute of the Staten Island building when her father was in the bathroom on Monday afternoon, law enforcement sources told the New York Post.
