Vietjet has placed an additional order with Rolls-Royce for 40 Trent 7000 engines to power its fleet of 20 Airbus A330neo aircraft.
Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet and Airbus have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering a major new order for 100 single-aisle A321neo aircraft, with the potential to add another 50 in the future.
The order comes on top of an older outstanding order for 96 A321neos and 200 Boeing 737 MAXs. Vietjet also signed up for 20 A330-900s, announcing an MOU at the 2024 Farnborough Airshow before firming it earlier this year. The carrier currently operates a fleet of 115 A320 family aircraft and seven A330s.
