China and India should see each other as "partners and opportunities" and offer the world "much-needed certainty and stability", Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during his first visit to India in three years amid recovering bilateral ties.

At his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, Wang said bilateral relations had experienced “ups and downs, and the lessons learned are worth remembering”, according to China’s Foreign Ministry readout.

China and India should establish "correct strategic understanding" and regard each other as partners, not rivals, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said to his Indian counterpart on Monday, according to his ministry.
