Look out, San Jose – here comes Waymo. The California Public Utilities Commission announced it has approved an amendment to Waymo’s existing operating permit, the final step in allowing the company to offer passenger service in San Jose.
After announcing that it’s doing over 250,000 trips per week, Waymo said that it’s reached a total of 10 million rides.
Word from folks “in the know” is that Waymo has a booth at the Google I/O 2025 conference and is giving out tickets to ride in the company’s robotaxis in its Silicon Valley territory. Waymo just received approval from California regulators that allows them to expand that service area.
