Gov. Wes Moore signed the state budget and its companion bill Tuesday, signaling the end of a tumultuous fiscal season — for now. “In Maryland, we do what we always do when the chips are down,” Moore said at the Annapolis ceremony.

Maryland's 2026 budget was among 160 bills that were signed into law Tuesday by Gov. Wes Moore. The nearly $67 billion spending plan was crafted to address the state's $3 billion deficit and the impact of federal funding cuts.

Among other pieces of legislation, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Tuesday signed into law House Bill 352, the Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act of 2025. In doing so, the governor guaranteed a tax hike for mobile bookmakers in the Old Line State.
