The 37-year-old Staten Island man shot and killed by police in the West Village after he pulled an imitation pistol on cops while escaping from a car crash had a history of domestic issues, police sources said Friday.
A man who fired at police during a road rage incident in the West Village was shot and killed by officers Thursday night, according to law enforcement sources.
The new mayor said “officers were placed in incredibly difficult and dangerous circumstances” after police killed two people in separate incidents Thursday night.
Police identified the man as Dmitriy Zass, 37, of Great Kills. NYPD officials said Zass was fatally wounded after he was involved in a car crash and then pointed an imitation gun at responding officers.
