Thousands of revelers in outlandish costumes will fill the streets of New Orleans as the city celebrates Mardi Gras Day

Parades on Mardi Gras day have been canceled due to the dangers posed by extreme winds that could reach 60 mph in the New Orleans area on Fat Tuesday.

Day in New Orleans will look a bit different this year, as the city is changing times and routes for the Zulu and Rex parades because of severe weather forecasts.  The storied Zulu Social Aide & Pleasure Club's parade will roll on a shortened route starting at 7 a.
