Trump Administration to Create New FAA Safety Oversight Office
The new safety oversight office comes as the FAA announces a restructuring plan.
The FAA will create new offices for safety management, airspace modernization and advanced aviation integration.
The FAA undergoes its largest restructuring to enhance safety and innovation, creating new oversight and technology offices without workforce reductions.
The organizational restructuring, announced on Jan. 26, calls for the creation of a new safety oversight office and the implementation of an agency-wide safety management system (SMS) and risk management strategy. It will not result in job losses, the department said.
