Ahead of his first CFP Championship game as a head coach, here's a look at Indiana coach Curt Cignetti's career history coaching in college football:
The Indiana Hoosiers won the College Football Playoff championship game to cap off a perfect 16-0 season. It is the only 16-win season by a college team in modern history and the first time a team went 16-0 since 1894 when the Yale Bulldogs did it.
As the Hoosiers marched through this impressive season, they beat opponents as no Indiana team ever had. They’ve scored 42.6 points per game (second in the nation) while allowing just 11.1 points (also second). That margin of plus-31.5 per game is the best in school history. Last season’s average margin of plus-25.7 is the second-best.
The Hoosiers are playing for their first national championship Monday against Miami. The significance is palpable, but they remain focused on the task at hand.
