The CEO of Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin announced in an all-hands call on Thursday company-wide layoffs of "about 10 percent" of its employees, a sweeping readjustment as it aims to cut costs and ramp up rocket launches.

Founded by Bezos in 2000, Blue Origin employs around 14,000 people at its Seattle-area headquarters and sprawling manufacturing and launch operations sites in Florida, Texas, and Alabama. The company's ambitious space portfolio includes space tourism, a Moon lander, a space station, and supplying rocket engines.
