The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has successfully decoded all data from the black box of the plane that crashed in Ahmedabad, according to Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu.
With 260 casualties and only one surviving passenger, the Air India 171 crash is one of the deadliest aviation incidents in recent history — and so far it’s proving to be one of the most frustratingly opaque.
Naidu also said that in a first of its kind instance, the AAIB has been successful in decoding data from black boxes of the crashed Air India plane in India itself.
Sandhu, who was also a designated examiner for the Boeing 787-8 fleet at Air India, had taken delivery of the now-crashed 787-8 plane -- VT-ANB -- in 2013.
