Aston Villa sign Evann Guessand: Why winning race for ‘new Didier Drogba’ is a major coup
The Ivory Coast international, 24, who has been likened to his hero Didier Drogba, was the second-highest-rated forward in French football behind PSG’s prolific Ousmane Dembélé before his move to Villa Park. Guessand has been signed from Nice for a fee in the region of £30m, becoming the club’s first major signing of the summer.

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Nice striker Evann Guessand for £26m plus £4.3m in add-ons. The 24-year-old Ivory Coast forward scored 12 goals last term and was named player of the season as Nice finished fourth in France's Ligue 1.
