Federal officials on Wednesday released images of a doomed NYC sightseeing helicopter as it broke apart in midair last month, killing six people.

The preliminary report of the investigation into last month’s deadly helicopter crash in New York City has been released, and in it, new images from a surveillance camera show what happened moments before it plummeted to Earth.

A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board did not provide an explanation for the crash, which left six people dead.
