Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed while attempted to get aid in Gaza, according to the UN. After setting up a total aid blockade in Gaza for more than two months, Israel began allowing aid to re-enter the enclave late May through a new US- and Israel-backed organisation called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) that has effectively sidelined the territory's vast UN-led aid delivery network.

Israel has agreed to "significant steps" to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the European Union's foreign affairs chief, Kaja Kallas, said on Thursday. In a statement, Kallas said Israel has agreed to a substantial increase of aid trucks entering Gaza on a daily basis,
