By Ethan Wang, Shi Bu and Ryan Woo BEIJING (Reuters) -Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a meeting with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra in Beijing on Thursday that the two countries should deepen their trust in each other and expand cooperation to counter growing uncertainties in the world.

Bangkok has described the scam centers as a "national security issue". On Feb. 5, Thai authorities cut off the electricity supply to five areas in Myanmar where fraud centers are allegedly located. In January, Chinese actor Wang Xing was reportedly rescued from a cyber fraud center in Myanmar.

The Chinese leader also thanked visiting Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra for her government’s actions against online scamming compounds in Myanmar.

"Thai people always come to China and feel like home, so I hope that Chinese people can come to Thailand and feel like home as well," she told China Daily in Beijing on Thursday. Paetongtarn is paying an official visit to China from Wednesday to Saturday.
