With a 100% chance of rain Friday, showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the day, with some storms producing flooding rainfall.

The National Weather Service’s (NWS) Weather Prediction Center (WPC) warned strong to severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours were expected across parts of the Southern and Central Plains, with the severe threat persisting over central Texas into Monday.

Dozens of bills were rejected over nearly 60 years, ProPublica and The Texas Tribune found. Some measures would have prohibited youth camps and new construction in high-risk flood areas.
