UMBC came back from a 15-point deficit to defeat the UAlbany men’s basketball team in overtime 92-87 in an America East game at Broadview Center on Thursday night.
And the humbling result? Vermont suffered its widest margin of defeat at home of coach John Becker's 14-year tenure. UMBC took control with its own big run and then cruised in the second half, riding red-hot shooting, to seize an 80-63 victory over the Catamounts in front of 2,537 at Patrick Gym.
Led by Bryce Johnson's 23 points, the UMBC Retrievers defeated the Albany Great Danes 92-87 in overtime on Thursday night.
AJ Lopez scored 24 points and Maine beat UMBC 87-62 on Saturday. Lopez also contributed three steals for the Black Bears (12-8, 4-1 America East Conference). Quion Burns added 19 points, 11 rebounds and four steals.
