When the North Carolina Tar Heels decided to part ways with Mack Brown, they saw a few recruits decommit and look elsewhere for an opportunity. But now with Bill Belichick as head coach, there's a chance some could come back including a key four-star edge rusher.
After visiting the Tar Heels in early September, Rolesville High School (N.C.) junior edge rusher Zavion Griffin-Haynes committed to then-UNC football head coach Mack Brown. But soon after the program parted ways with the 73-year-old in late November, the 6-foot-6, 220-pound four-star backed out his pledge.
Despite inquiries from NFL teams, North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick reportedly plans to stay put.
Stanford ranked No. 15 in the ACC in scoring offense (22.8 ppg.) and dead-last in scoring defense this fall (33.7). The Cardinal signed the No. 49 high school recruiting class and didn't spark much hope for instant improvement next season with the nation's No. 63 transfer portal class.
