LG’s OLED TVs are comfortably the most popular around, so each new range is hugely anticipated. At first glance, the four-strong 2025 range – which encompasses the M5, G5, C5 and B5 – looks a little uninspiring, with a heavy focus on AI over obvious picture quality improvements.

It’s been a little more than a week since LG’s 2025 OLED TV lineup was revealed at CES 2025. During the showcase, LG dropped quite a big bombshell: Its top two OLED TVs, the G and M Series, would no longer be leveraging Micro Lens Array (MLA) display technology to enhance panel brightness.

The Primary RGB Tandem structure applied to the fourth-generation OLED TV panel organizes the light source into four stacks by adding two layers of blue elements and independent layers of red and green elements. It improves maximum brightness by increasing the amount of light produced by each layer compared to the previous structure.

LG has unveiled the next generation of its OLED technology, which it says is brighter and more energy efficient than ever.

LG Display's new 4th-generation OLED panels are 33 percent brighter than previous generations, while also being more power-efficient.

LG's top-line 2025 OLED TVs and gaming monitors will have fourth-generation panels that deliver exceptional brightness and colour accuracy. They're also more energy efficient, and other brands are set to benefit too.
