Today is a First Alert Weather Day in Western Colorado. The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for over half of the state.

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The News 10 First Alert Weather Team has declared Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12 First Alert Weather Days due to the risk for strong to severe thunderstorms.

At a Wednesday morning press conference, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha declined to answer a question about delayed emergency alerts, saying that an "after-action" would follow the search and rescue efforts. "Those questions are gonna be answered," he added.

High pressure continues to bring trade winds to the Hawaiian Islands through the rest of the week. Moderate to breezy trades will continue through Saturday, then drifting north starting on Sunday which will weaken the winds.
