Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan on Tuesday met for a third time with President Trump since he took office, relying on her cordial relationship with him to express concern over the impact of tariffs on her state and to ask for a delay in changes to the Medicaid program.

MIchigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was in Washington, D.C., Tuesday to meet with President Trump. She said she spoke to the president about the toll that import tariffs are taking on the auto industry and the potential effects that other policies are having on the state.
