The New York Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field. With the win, the Mets ran their impressive early-season record to 18-7 through 25 games. The Phillies dropped to 13-12.

With runners on first and second and two outs in the 10th inning, Marte sealed the Mets’ comeback, lining a single to center field to complete the sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets’ 4-3 win is their seventh straight victory. It also puts them at 18-7 on the season, the best record in baseball. They are 12-1 at home.

David Peterson was tagged for 15 hard-hit balls as measured by Statcast but kept the Mets in the game by allowing two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings. Peterson surrendered eight hits (all were singles) and he walked one with two strikeouts.
