Vt., introduced a bill this week seeking to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an house and allow it to increase with inflation in subsequent years.

Hawley’s bill, titled the Higher Wages for American Workers Act, would increase the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour in 2026 with future increases tied to inflation. Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vt., has joined Hawley on the effort as a co-sponsor.

The federal minimum wage would rise to $15 per hour, with annual cost-of-living increases based on inflation, in a proposed bipartisan measure.
