Another heat wave will impact Michiana this week. The hottest days appear to be Wednesday and Thursday. Afternoon highs will approach the low to mid 90s with dew points near the upper 70s at times. This will lead to dangerous heat index values of 100° to 105°,

Heat returns on our Sunday along with the sun. Highs will top out in the lower 90s, with heat index values approaching triple digits. If you’re not a fan of the heat and humidity I don’t blame you, looking ahead to the end of next week, temperatures will likely be below normal, so there is an end in sight.

We’re also watching for the risk of heavy, or severe thunderstorms. A disturbance will bring a cluster of rain and thunder across our area this morning. Folks at AirVenture and at the opener for Packers Training Camp will need to watch for the CHANCE of downpours and lightning.
