The Toronto Maple Leafs had more than one reason to celebrate following Monday's 5-4 victory over the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of their second-round series. On top of starting the matchup against the reigning champions with a win, the Leafs witnessed history after Morgan Rielly's first-period goal to double Toronto's lead at the time.

A sloppy first period ensued for the Panthers, who dropped Game 1 of their best-of-7 Stanley Cup playoffs second-round series to the Maple Leafs 5-4 on Monday at Scotiabank Arena despite a third-period comeback bid.
