The 54-year-old man is accused of shouting racial epithets against Latinos, swerving into the other driver’s lane several times and hurling a cup of hot coffee into their car.

Irvine police said the suspect shouted racial slurs while throwing a hot cup of coffee at a Hispanic driver and nearly causing a crash.

IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) -- An Irvine man accused of a hate-motivated assault during a road rage incident has been arrested, police said. Robert Leon Tackett, 54, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon and is facing hate crime and aggravated assault charges.
