The search for the New York Jets’ next head coach rolls on. ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano decided to skip all the way to the end and predict who he believes will land the job. One of the six open head coach positions in the NFL is in New York. The Jets are casting a wide net having interviewed a double digit amount of candidates to this point.

According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, New York plans to interview Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Josh McCown for their head coaching job on Friday. McCown has spent the last season in Minnesota coaching up Sam Darnold during his career resurgent year, and before that, he spent a year in Carolina with Bryce Young and the Panthers.

As the NFL coaching carousel spins into another week, the rumors around potential candidates are swirling. The New York Jets are one of the teams looking for a new head coach and general manager after parting ways with coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas at different points during a dismal 2024 season.

Early in his third season, Johnson went down with a season-ending Achilles injury during New York’s Week 2 contest against the Tennessee Titans.
