Chinese hackers breached the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration through Microsoft SharePoint, with the Energy Department confirming no sensitive information was stolen.

Active SharePoint exploits since July 7 target governments and tech firms globally, risking key theft and persistent access.

A person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News that no sensitive or classified information is known to have been compromised.

The zero-day vulnerability — which was first disclosed late Saturday — has been exploited by several Chinese state-aligned groups, according to Microsoft.
