"I welcome the Supreme Court’s revised directions on stray dogs, as it marks a progressive step toward balancing animal welfare and public safety. The approach is both compassionate and rooted in scientific reasoning," Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X.
The incident took place hours after the Supreme Court on Friday modified its August 11 order, which ordered the civic bodies and authorities in Delhi-NCR to lock up all stray dogs.
The woman was allegedly assaulted and slapped eight times in around 40 seconds by a man for feeding stray dogs in a Ghaziabad complex.
This sparked a massive overnight protest outside a municipal dog sterilisation centre, where protesters alleged that strays were being killed inside the facility instead of being sterilised, reported Times Now.
The tiny carcasses were discovered during a routine beach survey by the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol in Atlantic Beach, just east of Jacksonville.
The woman, Yashika Shukla, is a resident of Ghaziabad and was feeding the dogs near an apartment complex in the National Capital region.
