At approximately 2:38 a.m. on November 15th, 2025, South Gate Police officers responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at a home in the 8400 block of San Luis Avenue. As officers arrived, the suspect — identified as 51 year-old Eduardo Vasquez — was seen leaving the residence armed with a firearm. He fired multiple shots at officers, who returned fire.
