Barra beach airport is the only airport in the world where scheduled flights use a beach as their runway. Flights to and from Glasgow are operated by Loganair to the Isle of Barra, part of the beautiful Western Isles of Scotland. The planes land and take off on the white sands of Traigh Mhor, a two-mile cockleshell strand.
