It might not look like much — just another stone bridge out on Cockfield Fell — but this little arch helped shape railway history. Built around 1830 for the Stockton and Darlington Railway, Skew Bridge (or Swin Bridge) carried the line across the River Gaunless at an angle of nearly 60 degrees.
