This is what I consider minimal gear to travel 100 kms to go remote ice fishing in the Yukon for multiple days for 2 people. When we travel we must be prepared for worst case scenario and be capable of self rescue if things go bad. The biggest risks are snowmobile crash, getting stuck in slush, breaking through thin ice.
